2017 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

2017 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Overview / Tasting Note : Lovely early maturity and balance showing in this young wine. Where our 2016 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir was de ned by its wildness and forward fruit, the 2017 is characterized by seamless textures and mouthfeel. The fruit profile incorporates dark cherry, wild raspberry and a cranberry-like quality to the acidity. Trace notes of deep mocha aromas build the mid palate.

Production Notes : Hand-harvested. Grapes were mostly destemmed (15% wholecluster) followed by a 3-5 day soak before fermentation. Fermenters received a combination of pump overs and punch downs over 12-18 days. Gently pressed and settled before going to barrel.

Alcohol : 13.5%

Cases Produced : 2,950

Vineyard Sourced : La Cantera (Chehalem Mountains AVA), Sylvia’s (Eola-Amity Hills AVA), Yamhill Springs (Eola-Amity Hills AVA), Four Winds (Willamette Valley)

Press : 90 Points Editors’ Choice WineEnthusiast

This well-built, budget-priced Willamette Valley Pinot deftly mixes its brambly fruit with light touches of herbs, skins and earth. Tannins are in the background, and it's the supple acidity that keeps it moving through a palate-pleasing finish.
